Dr. Ravichandran obtained his doctoral degree in Biomaterials/Chemical Biology from the Indian Institute of Technology, where he worked under the supervision of Prof. A. Jayakrishnan and Prof. V. Kesavan. His thesis focused on developing synthetic/natural polysaccharides-based drug delivery systems for treating leishmania, with part of the study being conducted in collaboration with Prof. Philippe M Loiseau at Université Paris-Saclay. He has expertise in various techniques such as multi-gram Asymmetric organic synthesis, self-assembly block co-polymers, RAFT, ARTP, radical polymerization techniques, CT-contractable polymers, and low dimensional hybrid metal nanoarchitecture for Sono/Photo responsive ROS & RNS materials. After completing his doctoral work, Dr Ravichandran worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Incheon National University in South Korea, where he focused on lipid nano assembly for drug delivery to the brain and Piezocatalytic/photodynamic cancer therapy. He received national postdoctoral fellowships from DST-SERB India (2019) and the National Korean Research Foundation Grand to establish his postdoctoral work (2021 & 2023). Dr Vasanthan joined The Kumar lab in January 2024, focusing his research on cancer drug development, diagnostics and nonclinical testing.
