Dr. Wahab holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and Master of Veterinary Science from the University of Ibadan. Here, she investigated the impacts of crude extracts from Crassecephalum crepidiode on the reproductive potentials of West African Dwarf goats. This study included the design, extraction, and purification of extracts from the Crassecephalum crepidiode and subsequent oral administration to the goats. This study revealed that the crude extract from Crassecephalum crepidiode enhances reproductive potentials, underscored by enhanced sperm motility, enhanced sperm livability, increased semen volume, and increased sperm count. Her most recent research is on the effects of Zinc sulfate on male albino rats induced testicular degeneration. This research shows extensive and marked detrimental effects of Sodium fluoride (NaF) on male reproductive parameters and the ameliorative effects of Zinc sulfate (ZnSO4) following NaF intoxication.
Aside from research, she was a recipient and principal investigator of an integrated One Health Research on Schistosomiasis in a southwestern state in Nigeria under the sponsorship of the prestigious RSTMH 2021 grant award for young professionals and scientists. Her expertise includes veterinary science, reproductive toxicology, and one health. She joined The Kumar lab in August 2022, where her primary research focus will be on designing clinically effective peroral anti-inflammatory therapies for acute kidney injury.
Education
2022- Master of Veterinary Science, in Theriogenology, University of Ibadan, Nigeria
2019- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), University of Ibadan, Nigeria
